When you're
thinking about starting to sing in a choir it's not always
easy to know where to go or which one to join.
Grosvenor
Chorale offers an opportunity for young singers, particularly
those who have just left school, to sing in a small choir
that is very friendly and sociable. To us, highly skilled
sight-reading and musical qualifications are not as important
as dedication to the group and willingness to work hard
as part of a team. And if you are more of a socialite then
there's more than ample opportunity for that too!
As a member
of Grosvenor Chorale you will have the opportunity to sing
in a wide variety of styles and venues. We present a few
concerts each year around the Greater Belfast area as well
as regular broadcasts for TV and Radio. We have two CDs
that have both been well reviewed and have plans to produce
a third in the near future. Recently we were runners up
in the Lyric FM Choir Competition which had more than 300
entries from throughout Ireland.
If you fancy
coming to our weekly rehearsal on a Monday evening to check
out what we do, we'd love to see you! We are an eclectic
group of personalities - members are currently aged from
18 to 40(ish) although occasionally we open our membership
to 16+. At the minute, we are particularly keen to hear
from sopranos and basses although if you are an enthusiastic
tenor or an alto you are very welcome to get in touch. If
you are at all interested in joining us please do contact
the conductor.
